Low Sugar Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients

  • 6 medium Tomatoes plum
  • ¾ cup Water
  • ¾ cup Pineapple diced
  • ½ cup Onion diced
  • cup Sweet pepper diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • tbsp Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp Tamarind juice
  • ¼ cup Honey
  • 2 tbsp Molasses
  • 2 tsps Thyme powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tbsp Pimento ground
  • tsp Ginger grated
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • ½ tsp Cloves
  • ¼ tsp Salt

Instructions

  • Add ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Add puree to a sauce pot over medium heat and bring to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir frequently for about 15 minutes or until the sauce at your desired consistency..
  • Taste and adjust for flavour and consistency by adding more spices, pineapple puree or water. Lasts up to 1 week if stored at the back of the fridge. 2 tbsp is a serving.
